The church in China is in the midst of a tremendous spiritual battle for the souls of hundreds of millions of people ... Chinese need the Word of God.
My experience in China has been one of the greatest highlights of my life. The warm hearts of the Chinese people are open and searching for truth like never before! |

China is transforming--becoming a fundamentally different society. The onece backward and feudal "sleeping giant" is undergoing modernization with incredible acceleration. It is outgrowing Soviet-style socialism, "marketizing" non-core industries while reforming the nationalized core used to maintain control--hence the current policy of rapid economic growth coupled with tight politican and social control. It is in the midst of political transition: not only determining the third era of leadership after Mao and Deng, but also in a real sense the second generation of leadership as the dying veterans of the Long March are replaced by bureaucrats crowned with less veneration and saddled with more accountability. Social tensions threaten security and stability--making the government nervous. Growing income gaps fly in the face of Marxis ideology. China's leaders are hard pressed to deal with labor and peasant unrest, inefficient and unfair management, unequal opportunity, corruption, disillusionment with the Party from within and without, and the lack of any credible ideology sufficient to sustain public morality. | ||
